Curaçao Tourism - How to Visit

Travel to Curaçao is made easy by the island’s national airport. Hato International Airport (CUR), near Curaçao’s capital, Willemstad, is home to several major airlines, allowing for flights from Europe, the Caribbean and North America.

Most flights into Curaçao depart from Miami via American Airlines. Continental or its partners also offers service between Curaçao, Houston, and New York/Newark, NJ on Saturdays. For European travelers, Amsterdam, home to KLM, Arkefly, and Martinair airlines, is your best bet for getting to the island.

For the cheapest flights, book well in advance if you’re looking to fly during the peak season (mid-December to the end of March). If your travel dates are flexible, get the best deal by flying between December and early April.

For those who prefer to travel by boat, Curaçao is home to two cruise terminals, both located in the Otrabanda section of Willemstad. The Mega cruise ships dock at the Mega Pier while smaller ships dock at the Mathey Wharf, located in the harbor.

Travelers must remember to bring a valid passport, a return or outward ticket on arrival, and all the necessary documents for returning to your country of origin, or travel elsewhere.
