Known for its year-round sunny climate, the average temperature in Curaçao is 27°C (in the mid 80s F). Trade winds that blow constantly from the east account for the island's comfortable cooling breeze. Fortunately, Curaçao conveniently avoids the hurricane belt and most of the worst storms in the Atlantic Ocean. The island’s rainy season, which falls between October and February, is punctuated with occasional short night showers. The total annual rainfall averages only 570 mm (22 inches). For travelers, this means short sleeve weather year-round with a moderate rainy season.
